Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land.
--- Proverbs 25:25

We did get news yesterday that we will likely be leaving on July 19th. We are just waiting now for our actual G&R date which should be around the 23rd. We know of only one other family that is traveling with us so far who is adopting out of Ho Chi Minh City, but more families may receive dates very soon. So we have only 3 more wks! I'll keep you all updated!

Luke's Dance Moves

Luke and Brea had Colt's CD player today and were playing one of the CD's that Randall made Colt from vacation bible school. It has a lot of christian rap music on it, and I decided to capture these new dance moves Luke has, and no he didn't learn these from his mother. It was so hilarious I had to share it. Even Sam the Yorkie was wondering what was going on! I ended up having to cut it off at the end because he started some dancing that was inappropriate for viewers. I have no idea where he learned this from, but it is to funny! Poor Jolea, what is she going to think of this brother of hers?

Preparing for Travel

Well, Jolea's bag is packed and ready to go! All I have left to pack is mine and Joey's. I feel like I have packed a complete pharmacy, but I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

8 families received travel approval last Friday and will be leaving this week. 2 of the families are traveling to Kien Giang. So we will be getting updated pictures very soon and also an updated height and weight. The last weight we had was from December so I'm very curious to see how much she has grown. This will probably be the last pictures we receive. The pictures to follow will be taken by my camera! Our program director and in country staff think we will travel very soon after this group. So please everyone be in prayer that we receive "the call" very soon. When we do receive "the call" we are going to be leaving very quickly. We are not going to get the typical 10 day to 2wk. travel notice. We will be leaving early so that we can spend a couple of days visiting her before we take her from the orphanage. She is probably going to have a hard time leaving her caregiver. I'll keep you updated and you all will know as soon as we get the call!

Sprinkler Park

We met some new friends at the sprinkler park today! Breanna had a blast playing with Lottie and Emma, and hasn't quit talking about them since. She is really excited about her sister coming home now. Luke wasn't too excited about the attention being off of him but he had a great time as well. You can read all about the Byrd family under Mission Lottie in my favorite blogs! Thanks for the invite Kimberley! We had a great time!

I heard this song the other day and actually listened to words, and Wow!, it really ministered to me. In the chorus it says "God is great, but sometimes life ain't good, when I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should, but I do it anyway." It made me think back on our life and how we prayed so hard for Colt's physical healing. Things just weren't happening like we thought they should, but we prayed anyway. It was often hard to believe if tomorrow could possibly be better than today, but we believed it anyway. Even after our world came crashing down us we kept believing, we kept dreaming, we kept loving, and most of all we kept trusting in our Lord. I've been stressing a little with our travel dates finally getting closer. Our life is about to change, again, and this is a new beginning for our family. I know this is going to be challenging for our family, but this is God's plan for us, and we have learned to trust in His plan whether it is what we had pictured or not. When we started this adoption I had this picture in my mind of what it was going to be like, and that completely changed the day I saw her and we decided to adopt her. Jolea is so special to us, and we are just so in love with her. You guys probably wonder how we can fall in love with a picture. I don't know how but we have. I just look back at where we were a few years ago and where we are now, and I can't believe it. I never thought our life could be filled with joy, laughter, and happiness like we have now. When I think about Colt, I smile. He is in Gods presence at this very moment and I couldn't be happier for him. I can't wait to tell Jolea all about her big brother. Now all we need is a travel date!

Just wanted to let everyone know that our document made it back and it is on its way to Vietnam! It will take it about 4 days to get to Vietnam. So it will not be long now before we travel. We are hoping for July! If not sooner!

Summer Fun

Since school has been out the kids have swam in the pool nearly everyday. Luke became brave enough to jump in the pool yesterday, so of course, that's all he did all day. I took some video with my camera so enjoy!

As far as adoption news goes. Our final document is at the Embassy and should be back at our agency on Friday. If it makes it back on Friday, it will be on its way to Vietnam Friday afternoon! Our agency is amazing! Thanks to all of their hardwork, Jolea will finally be coming home soon!
