St. Jude's Night at Chili's

Tonight we went out to dinner at Chili's. They are donating all the profits to St. Jude's for childhood cancer research. We have done this every year since Colt passed away. I want to thank our friends Tabatha and John for joining our family and my parents tonight. They had other things to do tonight, but dropped their plans because they know how important childhood cancer research is to me. Thank you guys!

Jolea hits the trails

This weekend Jolea went on her first atv ride. She has been on the 4-wheelers at home, but has never been on an actually all weekend ride. Riding 4-wheelers is something we love to do as a family. Jolea had a blast and wasn't scared a bit. She did think her Daddy was a bit crazy. She started out riding with me on my 4-wheeler, and then she ended up with my parents on the ranger. She loves Memaw and Grandad. She didn't mind the mud, and in fact played in it. I thought that she may be a bit scared riding in the woods and mud, but she surprised us all, and was a trooper. She'll be just like Brea, Colt, and Luke, and will have her own atv in another year! Enjoy the pics!

This is scary!

Luke and Jolea playing in the mud! Jolea loved her boots!

Crazy Daddy!

My Hero

Well, I wasn't sure if I would journal anything today. I know all of you have spent time today reflecting on the events of Sept. 11, 2001. I can vividly remember hearing the news on the radio on my way to work and then getting to work and everyone gathered around the tv in the lobby watching the events unfold. I remember watching the second plane hit the trade center, and the fear of wondering where the next plane would crash. I remember calling Joey and wondering if we should go get Brea from her school. I remember the biggest feeling of just wanting to be at home with my family. I was pregnant with Colt at that time and was wondering what kind of world I was bringing this child into.

Looking back I can honestly say that 2001 was a year that changed the course of my life forever, good and bad. Colt was born on October 15, 2001 and what a special child he is. A hero sent to me and Joey to bless us in ways that only he could have.
