Little Housekeeper

Jolea loves to fold clothes so I always save the dish towels and washcloths for her. I snapped these photos of her this morning.

This is our new neice Skyla! Isn't she adorable!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get this Thanksgiving post out. It's been a busy weekend. Jolea loved Thanksgiving. Most of all, she loved going to Memaw and Grandads farm with all the kids. She also loved getting dressed up in her new dress and boots. Eating is really one of her favorite things to do so she was thrilled to see all of the food.

I have so much to be thankful for this year. First of all, for Jesus, my husband and our children, our families, our friends. Thanks to all of you for all your love and support you continue to give us. I am also thankful for Jolea's birth parents, and for Children's Hope International's Vietnam Program staff for all of their hardwork in bringing Jolea home. I am also thankful for all of the friends I have made through our adoption. This has been an amazing year for our family and we couldn't ask for more. We are so blessed.

Welcome Home

I learned of another little one who lost her battle with neuroblastoma this morning. Hallie was 5 years old. She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in Feb. 2003. Please pray for her family as they enter in to this journey of learning to live without her.

One thing I have learned over the last 5 years is that we don’t always get to choose our circumstances and there are plenty of times when our current circumstances are not some we would have chosen if given the choice. But God can use these circumstances good and bad to change you and gives you the opportunity to use your circumstance to change someone else. This is a lesson that Colt taught so many of us. I can’t imagine that he would have chosen the journey that he walked but not once did he complain. Instead he spent his years changing lives. I know mine for one will never be the same and I cherish the memories and the lessons learned.

The kids had a great time playing outside today. The weather was perfect. I took these pictures of them playing chase and rough housing in the yard.

Luke and Jolea were chasing Breanna and he was mad
because he couldn't catch Brea.

Jolea could care less if she couldn't catch her, she was
having so much fun chasing her.

They caught her!

No Sweeter Name

Driving to school the other morning I had this song by Kari Jobe playing in the car. We listen to her music all the time. I had the radio up pretty loud and we all were singing, and at the end of the song she sings "Jesus, Jesus" over and over. I turned around to the kids and Jolea was singing "Jesus". It brought tears to my eyes just to hear her say His name. This was one of those moments that simply takes your breath away. You can listen to the song below.
