One more month!

Joey and Bre came home for the weekend and we got so much done!  He loaded everything I had packed into a trailer and hauled it back with him.  We did a lot of packing and working around the house.  The appraiser is coming this week also as we inch closer to our closing date.

We packed up Luke's room while he was here.  We took all of Colt's toys down from the shelf and packed them away into a rubbermaid tub.  It had been so long since I had seen some of those toys.  It was fun looking through them.  I cleaned out Luke's closet also.  I still had some of Colt's clothes hanging in there.  If we weren't moving, I believe I would've never taken them out of that closet.  God is really moving and closing some doors in my life, and he's using this move to do it.  I never knew how much I was clinging to material things.  You don't realize how much those things hold you back and keep you from moving on.  They distract us from the life He wants us to freely live.

I turned my resignation letter in Friday.  I've been arguing with myself for weeks trying to decide if I wanted to finish out the school year, but a couple of paychecks just isn't worth being away from part of my family.

Bre has started her first high school year of softball and I don't want to miss anymore games!  I can't even begin to describe the change in Bre since moving.  Most of all, the bitterness is gone, and her whole outlook on school has changed.  She loves her school, her teachers, her coaches, and her principal!  She's even amazed at how nice the people in the town are.  I'm pretty amazed myself.  For Valentines day her friends showed up at school with gifts for her.  She was in shock.  How sad is that?  She told them she just isn't used to this.  She recieved 10 carnations also from different people.  The kids and staff there don't judge others by the clothes they wear or the house they live in.  That stuff just isn't important.  It will even take me a little time to get used to it myself.  It's going to be a very humble experience and I'm looking forward to it!

Missing our families will be the hard part.  I know we'll have lots of visits, and I can't wait!  I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years we didn't see some of them moving a little closer to us. ;)

One more month until we are all together again, and I'm counting the days with much excitement!

Home is where your husband is

We now officially have a contract on the house!  Woot Woot!  We are actually selling it to some very close friends which makes me happy happy happy!  I can come visit the house anytime I want.  :) As long they're home of course, or maybe not.  They wouldn't care...

The packing is coming along.  I have thrown so much stuff away.  If it's broke or I haven't used it in over a year it's history.  I'm hoping my Mother picks up on this same packing technique when she sells her house which will be on the market soon!

We've now decided after not being able to find a house to buy that we are going to build.  There are a few lots that Joey is looking at and as soon as we close on our house we will be able to buy one and start building! Yippy!  He has also found a rent house and will be moving into it on March 1st.  It is small, but we are happy to just have a place at this point.  It's a cute little farm house and will be perfect while we're building.

Bre is loving her school.  She is starting softball this week and is extremely pumped about that!  She's made some great friends.  She and one of her friends even facetimed me today at work.  It made my day to see her beautiful face!  I love seeing her happy and I'm so thankful she chose to go ahead and start school there.  It's completely different from where she left, and the change in her attitude and outlook did a complete turn around.

I can only give God the credit for this amazing opportunity for our family.  My plan is to still stick it out until the school year is over, but I have to admit that it is difficult.  It's weird how homesick I feel when I'm home.

Home truly is where your husband and children are.
